But “clear case” can mean several different things—a soft transparent TPU case, a hard PC case, a hybrid case, a tinted transparent case, or a case with a magnetic ring.

Quick answer: what should you check before buying a clear case?
If you only remember five things, check these:
- Exact phone model: iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, for example, are not the same case.
- Material: check whether the listing actually says TPU, PC/polycarbonate or a hybrid construction.
- Clear or tinted: “transparent” does not always mean completely colourless crystal clear.
- Magnetic feature: a built-in magnetic ring and MagSafe compatibility are related but should not automatically be treated as the same claim.
- Yellowing claim: “non-yellowing” or “yellowing-resistant” should be tied to the specific product, not assumed for every clear case.

Why do clear phone cases turn yellow?
This is probably the first question people have after buying a transparent cover.
The short answer is: some clear cases can become yellow, amber or cloudy over time, but not every case changes in exactly the same way.
There are two things worth separating.

Sunlight and UV exposure can contribute to polymer aging, and the exact formulation of the material matters. A clear case that looks identical to another one when new can age differently.

Does TPU turn yellow?
Some clear TPU cases can yellow. TPU means thermoplastic polyurethane, and it is commonly used for flexible phone-case sides and transparent cases.
But “TPU” is a material family, not a promise that every TPU case will behave exactly the same way. Different formulations and stabilizers can affect colour stability.
So it is better to ask what specific case is this? rather than deciding that every transparent TPU case will definitely turn yellow.
Can a hard PC clear case turn yellow too?
Yes, polycarbonate can also change colour under UV exposure. That is why “PC” should not automatically be interpreted as “can never yellow.” The exact polymer grade, additives, coatings, exposure and construction all matter.
There is, however, a useful difference when shopping: a hard PC case is rigid, while a clear TPU case is flexible. If you prefer a firmer transparent shell, a hard PC case may be the type you are looking for.

Clear TPU vs hard PC: which one should you choose?
There is no single answer for everyone. It depends on what you want the case to feel and look like.

Some cases combine both. A hybrid clear case can have a hard PC back with soft TPU sides. That gives you a rigid rear panel while keeping the edges flexible.
What is a hybrid clear phone case?
A hybrid case simply means the case uses more than one type of construction.
For example, Everacs currently has a clear iPhone 13 & 14 case with a hard transparent PC back and soft TPU sides. That particular case is confirmed for the standard iPhone 13 and standard iPhone 14.

What does “transparent” actually mean?
This is an easy one to overlook when shopping online.
A transparent case can be crystal clear, lightly tinted, smoky or coloured while still allowing you to see the phone underneath.
For example, some Everacs hard-PC cases are available in Smoke/Black Clear or other tinted transparent finishes. They are not solid black cases—the phone can still be seen through the material.
So if you specifically want a completely clear cover, check the product photos and colour option rather than relying only on the word “transparent.”
What is a magnetic clear case?
A magnetic clear case has a magnetic ring or another magnetic construction built into the case.
This is becoming more common with transparent iPhone cases because people may want to keep the phone visible while using compatible magnetic accessories.
But there is an important distinction:
A magnetic ring is not automatically proof of Apple MagSafe certification or a particular wireless-charging speed.
For example, Everacs lists selected products as magnetic cases because they have a built-in magnetic ring. Individual products may have additional compatibility information, but we do not turn the presence of a ring into an unsupported certification or charging-performance claim.

Do clear cases protect the phone?
“Clear” describes the appearance of a case, not its protection level.
A clear case can be slim, rigid, flexible, hybrid, decorative or magnetic. Those are separate characteristics. A clear case should not automatically be described as “shockproof” or “heavy protection” simply because it has a case around the phone.
If a case has a raised camera surround, that is also a separate feature. A raised edge can help reduce direct contact between the camera area and a flat surface, but it is not a guarantee against scratches or damage.

Can a clear case fit a different phone model?
Do not assume it can.
Two phones can look very similar while having different camera openings, buttons, ports or dimensions. This is particularly important with iPhones where the names can be easy to mix up: standard, Plus, Pro and Pro Max models are not automatically interchangeable.
Always check the exact model listed on the product page. If a specific case is genuinely compatible with more than one model, that should be stated for that particular case.

What should you check when buying a clear mobile cover online in Pakistan?
When buying from an online store, the photos are useful, but the written compatibility information matters just as much.
- Find your exact phone model. Do not choose only because the phone looks similar.
- Check the case material. If you care whether it is TPU, PC or hybrid, the product page should say so when verified.
- Check the colour name. Smoke clear, black clear and crystal clear can look quite different.
- Look at the camera area. The opening should correspond to your phone model.
- Check the buttons and bottom openings. A case should be designed around the phone's controls and ports.
- If it has a magnetic ring, check what the seller actually claims. Do not assume every magnetic ring means the same charging or accessory compatibility.
- If something is unclear, ask before ordering. It is much easier to confirm a model before checkout.

Which is better for a clear case, TPU or PC?
TPU is flexible, while PC is rigid. The better choice depends on the case style you prefer and the verified construction of the particular product. Neither material should automatically be treated as permanently non-yellowing.
Do hard PC clear cases turn yellow?
They can change colour under UV exposure, depending on the exact material formulation and construction. Some specific products are sold with a verified or supplier-confirmed yellowing-resistance claim, but that should not be generalized to every PC case.
Does a magnetic clear case mean it is MagSafe?

Can I clean a yellow clear case?

Final checklist before you buy
Before ordering a clear mobile cover, ask yourself:
- Do I know my exact phone model?
- Is this case soft TPU, hard PC or a hybrid?
- Is the finish crystal clear or tinted?
- Does the product page clearly state the compatible model?
- If there is a magnetic ring, what exactly is confirmed about it?
- Is any non-yellowing claim specific to this product?
- Are the camera, buttons and port openings appropriate for my phone?
If all of those are clear, you are much less likely to order a case based only on a product photo or a similar-looking phone.
